Theodore knows he has the best life and that we are all wondering how to be as joyful and carefree as he is. He said it’s not fair to keep all of his secrets to himself! That’s why Theodore is sharing his tips for living a happy & healthy life with you!

He wants you to find more peace & joy in your life and hopes these tips will remind you that life is what you make it.

 

Theodore’s Five Tips for a Happy Life


 

#1: Find time for play

Theodore says, “don’t take life too seriously!”

Make time in your schedule to do something you love, even if it’s just for a few minutes!

Trying to push through all of your tasks at once can actually make it harder to get things done.

Give your mind a break and do something fun — you’ll be glad you did!

#2: Go outside

Theodore loves taking a walk in the morning or evening when it’s cool out.

Knoxville has so much to offer from paddle-boarding and kayaking, to biking and hiking!

If that isn’t your thing, take after Theodore and go for short walk around your neighborhood and enjoy the fresh air. Grabbing a book and sitting outside (or by an open window) is another great way to connect with nature and find peace & calm.


 

#3: Squeeze in time for a nap

Theodore swears a nap cures his grumpy moods!

If you are feeling worn out, take a quick power nap (5-15 minutes) or spend time in Legs Up the Wall pose (on a wall, couch, or bed!) or another restorative yoga pose for 10+ minutes to get a little energy boost and to hit the mental “reset” button.

#4: Spend time with friends

Theodore loves hanging out with his friend Beans!

Connecting with people you love is so important for mental health.

If you feel low, send a message to a friend, and don’t forget to check on them, too!


#5: Treat yourself!

Theodore says, “Don’t confuse self-care for being spoiled!”

Taking time for yourself and enjoying some indulgences are just things that make life better! When we don’t make time for ourselves, we can suffer from burn-out and become unhappy.

Make time for your yoga practice, have some dessert, take a bubble bath, or do whatever you need to remind yourself that you are worth it and you deserve it!
