Kris, Instructor & LMT

Kris is a certified Vinyasa Flow Yoga Instructor receiving her certification from Asheville Yoga Center in 2013 and a licensed massage therapist educated at Roane State Community College. Kris was first introduced to yoga through a study of yoga philosophy, which led to her curiosity about the physical practice of yoga. The transformation she has discovered throughout her yoga journey inspired her to share what she had learned. She brings to her practice over 10 years of experience in various styles, having studied and practiced with many different teachers around the world.

Kris is an energetic person with a great passion for life and a desire to make a difference. She spent her 20's traveling in the U.S., Canada, Thailand, and Spain, completed a trans-American/Canadian bicycle tour, and worked as a guide in wilderness therapy, sharing her love of life, nature, and yoga with at-risk youth. These experiences have made her appreciate the abundance of the human experience and given her a great passion for empowering others to find and travel their path to healthier, freer lives.

Through both yoga and massage, Kris has developed a deep curiosity and appreciation for the way the body moves, heals, and supports our overall well-being. Her massage therapy training includes Swedish massage, myofascial integration and structural techniques, neuromuscular therapy, and active isolated stretching. She approaches bodywork with full-body awareness and intention, taking the time to understand each person's lifestyle, needs, and goals. Her massage sessions may incorporate gentle Swedish and deep tissue techniques, range of motion, stretching, and intuitive touch to create a personalized experience that can be both relaxing and invigorating.

Kris is a believer in the profound and life-changing benefits of yoga - from increased strength, flexibility, vitality, and endurance, to a greater sense of well-being, inner-harmony, and mental focus. Her experiences with both yoga and massage have given her a firsthand appreciation for the connection between physical and mental well-being and have strengthened her confidence in the body's incredible capabilities. She believes each body is unique and deserves to be cared for with attention, compassion, and intention.

Kris teaches with much gratitude for and celebration of the body, mind, and spirit, using a combination of Vinyasa flow coupled with deeper, longer holds, with breath as the guide. Whether she is teaching yoga or working with someone through massage, Kris is passionate about helping people feel well, connected, and joyful in their bodies.

“I love sharing a practice that continues to inspire my life, both with yoga and body work, but my favorite part is all the people I have had the opportunity to know and love along the way. It has been an honor and a blessing.”

Kris looks forward to sharing the yoga journey with you!

Namaste.
