Where are you from? Deborah and Les are both from Oklahoma, and Stacy was born in Kansas. They traveled and lived mostly out west before settling in Knoxville.

How long have you lived in Knoxville and what do you like about living here? Deborah, Les, and Stacy have lived in Knoxville for the past 19 years!

When and why did you begin practicing yoga? While each individual in the family had their own reasons, Deborah, Les, and Stacy all began their yoga journey in January of 2019. Les and Stacy spoke with each other on more than one occasion about beginning a yoga practice. The more they talked about it, the more they thought it was something that they could all benefit from, including Deborah. Deborah was hesitant at first, but she agreed to give it a try and has been enjoying coming to classes with her husband and daughter! And we are so glad that they started! :)

How has yoga benefitted you? Everyone agreed that yoga has helped them, but all in different ways! Les could see it was a great complement to his gym routine, Deborah has gained more energy to run around and play with her grandson Cayden, and Stacy noticed she has been sleeping better, and her posture and flexibility have improved! But they all agreed that they have noticed a difference in each other. They have all been walking a little taller, breathing a little deeper, and in some of those tougher moments if life, being able to, in Deborah’s words “…take a moment to acknowledge a situation and how you feel about it, then allow[sic] yourself to let it go.”

Do you have a favorite pose or class? You can find Les attending some beginner classes and enjoying the core, foundational poses. Deborah has been enjoying Dani’s classes and has really been connecting with balance and grounding poses. She has been taking some of these poses outside of the class and has found herself more aware and able to take a moment to allow herself to feel more grounded and present in her daily life. Stacy is loving the Chakra Yin classes in the evening and enjoys how she is always learning something new and interesting from the class. Stacy is currently connecting with Warrior II because while in the pose there is such a sense of standing your ground, being strong, and also graceful all rolled in one.

Thank you to the Reed/ Pearson family! :)
