This is my first time here... How do I get started?

 

Sign up for a class!

Class space is limited, and signing up ahead of time reserves your spot in the class. Please also sign in at the front desk when you arrive.

There are 3 ways to sign up for a class:

  • Sign up on our "Blue Ridge Yoga" smartphone app (download in iTunes or Google Play)
  • Pick a class & sign up here!
  • Call us at the studio (865-288-3562) and let us know which class you would like to sign up for. We are here to help you!
 

How often do I need to practice yoga to experience results?

We recommend taking class 2-3 times each week in order to experience the benefits of yoga and meditation such as flexibility, balance, muscle tone, and increased immunity. There are so many benefits to the practice! Please share with us how yoga has improved your life; we love to hear success stories!

Try different classes with different teachers until you discover the combination that works best for you! We are dedicated to supporting your yoga practice — ask the front desk for advice!

What do I need to bring/wear to my first yoga class at Blue Ridge?

We provide everything you need, just bring yourself!

Wear clothing that you are comfortable moving and stretching in — many people choose to wear a t-shirt/tank top and yoga pants to class. If you own a yoga mat or any other props, you are welcome to bring those and use them in class. If not, we have yoga mats available at the studio for use (free of charge), as well as all necessary props for class.

Please arrive for class 15-20 minutes before class begins.

When you arrive for your first class, you will sign in at our reception area and complete some basic paperwork, including a liability waiver. Please leave your shoes in the lobby and bring your wallet/purse and other items into class with you; the top shelf is designated for personal belongings. And of course, remember to silence your phone during class! Trust us, it's nice to put your phone away for an hour!

When you leave your first class, make sure you do this one thing...

Please stop by the front desk on your way out! We want to hear how your experience went, and help you sign up for additional classes based on your experience. Remember, not every class style is for everyone. We want you to discover the class styles and teachers that speak to you most, and that might take a few classes to figure out. We are here to help you find your groove!
