Yogi Spotlight:

Meet Ryan! Ryan has been practicing with us since May!

Where are you from? Originally Pennsylvania. Doctorate school led me to Atlanta, GA, then after graduation I moved to Knoxville.

How long have you lived in Knoxville and what you like about living here? February ’17. I love the smokies! I am an avid hiker, and I enjoy getting lost in the mountains.

When and why did you begin practicing yoga? I took some classes while in Atlanta. I didn’t know what yoga was about. When I moved to Knoxville, I wanted to commit to doing it regularly. I read a ton of its healing benefits. I wanted to personally feel them. I was guided to Blue Ridge by the universe, and I am very grateful I am here.

What are you grateful for this Thanksgiving season? I am grateful for my health and the opportunity to serve this community on their own health journey.

Where are you from? I am was born and raised in Gadsden, AL. It’s a small city about 45 min outside of Birmingham. It is a very small town, and I had a great childhood their but I love the liveliness of Knoxville.

What is your favorite yoga pose? My favorite yoga pose is half pigeon.

Where is your favorite place you’ve traveled to? Definitely New York City. My mother and I drove there after I graduated high school. It was the best adventure I’ve ever had. I love everything about that city! I can’t wait to go back.

What do like about working at Blue Ridge? Oh, I don’t know if I can name just one. I fell in love with this place the moment I stepped in the building. From the blue walls, lol, to the people and everything in between. The environment here is like no other studio I’ve ever been apart of. It’s truly magical!

What do most people not know about you? Confession, I’m a hobby hopper…. I love trying new things but I’m notorious for buying all the gear, and talking continually about said new hobby, then 3 months later forget all about it.  It’s my thing, to stop doing things! Haha!

What are you grateful for this Thanksgiving season? I’m thankful for my health, family, and friends. I have an incredible group of people around me that supports me in every thing I pursue, and they just make life more exciting!
